Colleyville nursing home gets a Fat Tuesday surprise from a local restaurant
The Cajun Market in Colleyville is usually hopping with customers on Fat Tuesday.
But this year, amid a pandemic and extreme weather, it was instead a day to hop to action for owners Phil Tullis and Deborah Allen-Tullis.
A post on the Fort Worth Foodies Facebook group Tuesday morning alerted Tullis that Ellery Arbor Memory Care nearby was without power and hot water.
“Any food trucks in or close to Colleyville that could come out today? I work at a memory care community and we have no power, heat or hot water. Employees have been sleeping here for a couple days to make sure the residents are safe and taken care of but nobody has had a hot meal,” the post read.
While the restaurant doesn’t have a truck, they were motivated to take action, Tullis told WFAA-TV (Channel 8).
