Dog parade lifts spirits of Grand Rapids assisted living facility residents during pandemic
The sounds of “good boy” and the sight of a 103-year-old woman clapping for the dogs are memorable moments from a unique event Monday during a pandemic.
The joy the parade of dogs brought to the retirees’ faces also couldn’t be hidden by a mask.
Volunteers with Paws With A Cause held a dog parade to lift residents’ spirits at an assisted living facility. The focus of the event was to connect the residents of the assisted living facility with the animals despite the coronavirus pandemic. Concerns about COVID-19 and the potential health risks to older people have kept the Beacon Hill at Eastgate residents indoors for much of the year.
