Virtual Concerts Lift the Spirits of Long Term Care Residents

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, long term care residents often enjoyed in-person concerts from talented volunteers. With visitor restrictions put in place to keep everyone safe, some of these performers have gone virtual to keep residents entertained when they need it most.

Molly

Molly is a 15-year-old high school student from Michigan. As part of her Girl Scouts Gold Award Project, she performed and recorded a virtual concert featuring jazz hits and Broadway classics such as “New York, New York,” “Love Is Here to Stay” and “Out of My Dreams.”

Justin

Justin is a junior in high school from Texas. He and a handful of piano players across the state recorded two virtual concerts for residents of long term care communities.

These are just a couple examples of the support long term care residents and staff have received during this trying time. Visit Stories of Care to see how other people are reaching out to their local long term care communities.
